I'm hugely in favour of this and I suggest that everyone signs up for it whatever your SVS or CTF experience. This league ticks a lot of boxes. First of all it gives WZ the second league it has desperately needed for the last couple of years. Like most SVS zones Warzone is now league based and is virtually dead in the off-season. WZL has such a long and complicated league structure that it's not suited to a fast turnover of seasons and we needed something to play between those seasons to keep the zone active and the WZ Cup will give us that.
Secondly it gives WZ a foothold in Chaos/League that so far it's been unable to get because of Chaos holding the public spawn in an iron fist and the switch to ASSS not on the horizon.
Finally, and probably most importantly, WZ looks to have found a way to accommodate new players it lost when pub play died a death. The jump from current pub play to WZL is just too great for newbies to make. The WZ cup system of new players drafted into squads with experieced WZ'ers as caps while allowing established WZ and Prem squads to play in the same league is an inspired move.
In fact there's only one thing I don't like about this whole thing. The Interstellar Warzone Cup? What was wrong with just the Warzone Cup.

Warzone CTF and Chaos Zone is proud to announce the partnership and creation of our first ever cross zone league called the Interstellar Warzone Cup!
All those who wish to play should sign up here.
NOTE: You have to be registered with the wzctf.net site first!
FAQ:
What is the Interstellar Warzone Cup?
It is a partnership League of CTF (Capture the Flag) between two of Continuum’s long standing original zones, Warzone and Chaos.
Two Teams will battle it out in bases to defend and attack for the control of flags. Hold all flags for 80 seconds and your team wins! Games will take place in both Chaos and Warzone Zones and will take place twice a week. Sunday’s and Thursday Nights!
The draft will take place July 23, 2006 and games will commence the following week July 30th. Players may form teams to avoid the draft but need a minimum roster size of 15 players. We encourage both Warzone Squads and Chaos/Prem squads to sign up as set teams! (if you have close to a full roster WZ Cup Admin. can work with you to add a few players to your roster)
If you want to enter a team have your team mates register for league and email the league OP: wingcutter@wzctf.net with a list of your teammates and a squad/Captain access will be given to you for rostering purposes.
When will matches take place?
Sunday Matches: Teams will battle it out 8v8
Team effort will be needed to breakdown a good defense and/or a good offense and winning will focus more on the collective rather than on the top attackers/defenders.
Thursday Evening Matches: Teams will battle it out 6v6
This is where the stars should shine. With only 6 players a side, mistakes will be very costly. Skilled players will also be rewarded for their play more often and can make larger impacts in these games. Look to 1-2 attackers and 1-2 defenders to make the difference in these matches.
Who is welcome to participate in this event?
Anyone and everyone! This league will be accepting both teams and players who do not have a team but wish to play. Sign ups will be open all season long so players will be welcome to sign up for this league until playoffs. Those players who wish to play and do not have a team will be drafted on to teams run by the Interstellar Warzone Cup Administration. Captains have been hand picked by WZ Cup Admin. and consist of players who are skilled flaggers, mature, dedicated and organized.
How will the scoring/point structure work for this league?
4 points for a win.
2 points for a tie.
Matches to last a max. of 60 minutes. No OT until playoffs!
I can only commit to showing up one day a week, should I still sign up?
Yes! Teams will need good sized rosters (15-25) to ensure they can show players twice a week. League will also allow 2 NTS (non-team subs) to help ensure scheduled games are completed.
What if I am I am new to CTF (Capture the Flag)?
No problem! We will be holding CTF boot camp one hour before each match where demonstrations will be held to learn how to:
Attack and Counter Attack
Defend
Breaking down a bomb-line
Setting up a good bomb-line
Set a good bullet line up in base
Setting mines in base
Other!
