IML Round 1 Predictions
When I first started this blog, during the start of the last Premier league season, one of the main reasons for doing it was that I was going to bring back my predictions. I ended up not doing any at all. but now with the blog back and the start of the Premier League regular season this Sunday I bring you the first full Vorbometer predictions in around three seasons.
As there's less squads this season I may do predictions in all three league. As there's only going to be a maximum of three games per week in AML I will most likely start predicting them from next week, but for this week it's just IML as that's all I have time to do.
So here's how the Vorbometer sees Round 1 of IML, which this week is brought to you by Armi & Danny aka Mauler & Caerbannog.
CR Virgins vs Fly-NDeath
Last season CRV finished the regular season 4-3 before going out in the first round of the playoffs to eventual champs Invidium while FnD won the new look AML (which in reality is the old look Spring League while the current look IML is supposed to be the old look AML, but with the current squad numbers it resembles the old look IML).
Both these squads bring pretty much the same rosters as last season with just a few tweaks. CRV are lead on the field by the CAPS LOCK KIDS DATAH, KURAH, PARAH and LUNAH. The unholy tankage of DATAH is particularly a site to behold. FnD are led on the field by ..... well actually I don't know as I haven't seen them play this season. These squads played each other in pre-season where CRV came out with an easy 12-2 win. I don't foresee Sunday's result being much different to that.
Vorbometer: 12-3 CRV
Key players: DATAH (CRV) Holly Molly (FnD)
Watch out for: The spectacular return, followed by the immediate meltdown and ?squadleave, of Don Cherry
FutureCrew vs Striker
Striker actually have a decent roster if some of their big names (bho, Felony, majeure, Win) become active and my expectations of Brave as a 4v4 captain have gone up since I noticed he put Speed on the inactive list. Striker are one of those squads that have a chance of going all the way or could implode. Just look at their pre-season results. Opening with a 12-7 win over CRV, then only showing three and losing 12-0 to SFE the next week. Their whole season could be like that.
FutureCrew seem to be the designated powerball squad in 4v4 this season, but unlike previous pb squads the only thing they're favourites to do is drop out half way through the season. Their best player by far is the seven year itch, but I just can't see where he's going to get the support from. If this is the future of IML I might as well kill myself now.
Vorbometer: 12-4 Striker
Key players: Felony (Striker), the seven year itch (FC)
Watch out for: Brave's parents. They're famous in Spain you know.
IMLlamasery vs StarFire Elite
IMLlamasery belong in AML. StarFire Elite belong in Pro. You do the math.
Vorbometer: 12-1 SFE
Key players: bushes (llamas), Garcon (SFE)
Watch out for: llamas in AML and SFE in Pro at the start of next season.
Liquid Inc. vs Secret
When it comes to 4v4 it's very easy to find out how LI's season is going to go. Just check their roster. If More Majorum isn't on it then they are going to suck. If he is on it then they're going to go to the playoffs. Trust me, it's that easy. As MM is on this season's roster LI are heading for a playoff spot.
Secret are another team I haven't really seen much of so far so it's hard for me to say how they will do this week. Though like LI it's easy to see how their season is going to go. With Secret is down to activity. If their vets are all showing and practicing then they will compete. But if they're only turning up to games while spending the rest of the week taking the grandkids to trips to the zoo and tending their prize winning petunias then it could be a long season. Finishing the pre-season 0-3 is not a good sign.
Vorbometer: 10-7 LI
Key players: More Majorum (LI), Nocarbon (Sec)
Watch out for: cose's prize winning petunias.
Nightwatch vs ReDS
I've managed to get through these predicts so far without a single football analogy, which has to be a record for me. I'm not going to break it here, but I do have a subspace analogy for you. NW remind me of Warlords just before they lost most of their starters to Dissent. They're a good squad who's best days are behind them and have gone stale. After a couple more seasons in the cellar Warlords managed to regroup by following the llama playing model. No sign of life in NWland however.
It's easy to blame Covert Agent for this because ..... well, because it's his fault. Years of hostility of anything not called IML by the worst league sysop ever has let NW pass their sell-by date as an upper level IML squad when they should of moved up and faced a fresh challenge. Energy view isn't going to help them this season. I'd be very surprised if they win a single game.
ReDS' season hasn't really started yet. After a bye in pre-season round 1 they took on NW in round 2, stomping them 12-1 before taking apart llamas 10-2 in round 3. Their season really starts next week when they face Prospect (who have a bye this round).
Vorbometer : 12-1 ReDS
Key Players: Tarnished Silver (NW), Madness (ReDS)
Watch out for: NW avoiding the shutout due to a P-Mav teamkill.

its the battle of the big losers on blogexplosion! Good luck man, should be a great fight, since we both have 3x as many losses as wins.

Good luck to you too. With the kind of content our blog has we're not going to get many BotB wins, which is good news for you.
Hopefully we'll get some interest in Subspace though, which is the reason I enter.
