Vorbometer Predictions for Pro League Round 4

Before the AML is ----------------> that way comments start I'd just like to direct your attention to this page. Now there's no box score or log for the game Starseed played against Jihad in pre-season round 1 of Pro League season 12, so you'll just have to take my word for it that I was an NTS in that match for SS and managed to go 2-3. You notice that later in the season Jihad no-showed rather than face SS just in case I showed up again to NTS and dominate them once more. So Starseed's first ever win in Pro is down to me.

With that kind of prestige behind me it's a miracle that Mop hasn't recruited me to start for Assassins. But no, so here I am playing back in AML in my super-secret alias (super-secret unless you check the alias bot) slumming it when I should be winning back-to-back-to-back ProBowls.

Not that I'm bitter or anything. So for the first time ever the Vorbometer is unleashed in Pro for Round 4 and this week is brought to you by World of Datecraft (I hear Life has a profile).

Assassins (3-0) vs Fuel (0-2)

The staff have been patting themselves on their collective back recently about how well the new scheduling system has been working. And it has - if you overlook the fact that so far this season there's been more games played 4v3 and 4v2 in all three leagues than in any season I can remember. And it's not just Euro squads that have gotten into trouble. In AML Warlords have had problems showing to games as the times are too early for them.

So far in the two games Fuel have played they've only managed to show three, interestingly though it was three different players in each game. They do have a playoff-level roster if they can get a full showing, but even with their best four in the game Assassins would be a tough ask. With people like Final and Zauruz starting it's going to be over very quick. With less than four showing it'll be over even quicker. Quicker than it took you to read this. This line here.

Maybe Assassins could give them a chance and let Dingo go Arwing on them and start in a Lanc. Unless fuel suddenly start showing their best the only real question in this game is going to be who will tak teamkill?

Vorbometer: 12-1 Assassins
Key players: Dingo (Ass), mixman96 (Fuel)
Watch out for: Travis killed by: tak [TEAMKILL]

BIA (1-2) vs Exultant (0-3)

I suppose it could be worse. Sage could still be playing for Exu. BIA to cruise to an easy win in another game that probably won't be 4v4 and 9-Volt to grab another bunch of kills.

Vorbometer: 12-2 BIA
Key players: 9-Volt (BIA), Ordoc (Exu)
Watch out for: Euri's 16,000,000 x 12,000,000 res

Creation (0-3) vs Unhallowed (3-0)

Fred Savage>LOL @ ME

So after costing his squad a win over BIA will Savage finally see the light and bench ZDeathX? And when I say costing his squad a win, it's Savage I'm talking about not ZRocketX. It's not like ZDX's playing style has ever been a secret. Look at this quote for example:

If there's anyone who is genuinely bipolar in real-life then it's ZDX. Like dk when things are going his way then he's fine, but if the slightest tiniest little thing goes wrong he turns into a dribbling mental case. Out comes the rockets and it like watching your ADD suffering 5 year old nephew after a six pack of Pepsi. Now most people would perhaps be concerned to watch a fellow AML'er battle with deep rooted mental problems. Not me. I sit in spec and poke him with a virtual stick. I suggest you all do the same.

That was written by me. In June 2004, back when ZDX was still in AML. Now if I knew about him then, you'd expect a Pro league captain who's played with him for a few seasons to be slightly aware of ZDX's mental state. But he still starts him, still keeps him in games for far too long (at best ZDX should start for one life and never be left in a game once he's died and never EVER be trusted as a sub) and still loses games his squad should win.

But after saying all that, even if he chooses his best starting line and calls the perfect game Creation are still going to get buttfucked by Unhallowed. Never mind, it's the big one in round 5 when Creation and Exultant face off to decide who's the worst team in Pro. Standing room only in the spec freq for that one.

Vorbometer: 12-2 Unhallowed
Key players: Nel (Crea), Nova (Unh)
Watch out for: ZDX not being there. There goes 75% of my screenshots =(

Llamasery (2-1) vs The Dark (3-0)

It's not really a surprise that the llamas have started so well in Pro. They've been pretty much playing a pro-style game since the days when they ran a single squad in the old AML. I think the real surprise has been the players that have stepped up for them in the crunch(y) times. I would of expected cay and Cicada to be their leaders and to make the key kills, but it's been people like Mortok and Razar who have lead them. I mean, Mortok. This is a guy who's claim to fame used to be rep-port-bursting outside J14 safe in Alpha and now he's MVP'ing pro games. What's he world coming to?

The Dark also have very good teamwork and play a tight game, but they also have the players that can push llamas back. Not that llamas need an excuse to go backwards, but you know what I mean. Even after saying all that about Mortok and Razar, I like who TD can start in their #3 and #4 slots compared to llamas and that will get them the win here in a very tight game

Vorbometer: 7-6 The Dark
Key players: cay (llamas), Miner (TD)
Watch out for: overtime

Poke Her (2-1) vs Starseed (1-1)
$$$ Game of the Week $$$

So the age old battle of forwardarrow against backarrow is played out once again. This game could go to OT, or it could be over very quickly. Or it could start quickly and finish in OT. Or start really slowly and finish in a second. It could get off to a really fast start, then slow down before speeding up for a slow fast end, but suddenly speed up again before slowing down. I foresee an exciting lobfest.

To be honest I don't really have a clue what I'm doing. I just make all this up as I go along. I don't even play Pro. Why are you reading these?

Vorbometer: 10-7 Poke Her
Key players: Slimster (PH), Reaem (SS)
Watch out for: My amazing return to Pro as I NTS for Starseed and once again lead them to victory. What do you mean there's no NTS's in Pro anymore?

NightBane (0-3) vs Sterling (2-1)

Mortok starting in Pro and picking up MVP's is one thing, but High Voltage getting a sniff at a Pro roster? The world has truly gone mad. In fact Overshadow has just broke the Vorbometer.

Vorbometer: *** NO CARRIER ***
