Powerball Pyramid League FAQ's
Everything you want to know about the PBPL, but were afraid to ask:
So what the fuck is it?
The Powerball Pyramid League is something I decided to run myself as I got bored waiting for a league to start and sick of playing crappy games of smallpub all the time. The league is designed to get regular 8v8 games played on the large map again and to get enough interest in 'real' powerball back so that the staff can go on to run a full Classic League or CashBall from this.
How Does it work?
Every week there will be a simple single elim tourney. In the first week the tourney will crown the first PBPL champs. Then every week after that the tourney winners will go on to play the current champs.
When will the games be played?
For now the games will take place at the normal PB league time, Sunday evenings (EST). If the league grows to the extent where it's impossible to play all the rounds in a single night then I will talk to the captains to see if they want to play the league over a single weekend (Sat & Sun evens), play the early rounds through the week and the later rounds on Sunday or play over two Sunday evenings.
In reality I doubt that this will become a problem. If the league becomes that big then it will have done it's job and we will look to move into a full staff-run league.
How do I get my squad signed-up?
E-mail me with your playing name and squad name and I'll set you up on ScoreMaster. Once you have a roster of at least 15 eligible players you can play the next week of the league. If you sign players from current league rosters there's a 10 day waiting period before they become eligible, if they haven't played the league before there's no waiting period.
And that's it?
Pretty much. For now. The league is very much a work in progress. Right now we're still in the process of signing up players and squads before we schedule our first round. Once we have a minimum of four squads we will start to play. Check the blog front page and the Powerball forums for the latest news.
